CHANGES FOR 2014:
-17-inch wheels standard on all models
Dodge has decided to leave well enough alone with its Grand Caravan, so the most popular minivan in the country moves into 2014 unchanged. The sole powertrain is Chrysler's 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 paired with a six-speed automatic transmission; this engine is a great fit in this van, its 283 hp providing plenty of motivation, but returning decent fuel economy in the process.
Trim levels include Canada Value Package (CVP), SXT, Crew, Crew Plus and R/T.
The lineup starts with the Canada Value Package, which includes cloth seats, second-row bench seat and 60/40 split folding third row with tailgate seating function, Uconnect media centre with four-speaker stereo, steering wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls, three 12-volt power outlets, dual-zone air conditioning, tilt-and-telescoping steering column, overhead console, two glove boxes, outside temperature display, front maplights, power locks and power windows with one-touch driver up/down, 17-inch steel wheels, power heated outside mirrors, keyless entry, trailer sway control and enhanced accident response system (EARS).
SXT trim adds second-row Stow 'n Go seats, body-colour door handles and bodyside moulding, black roof rack, floor mats, front floor console with cup holders and sunscreen glass.
Crew trim adds aluminum wheels, three-zone automatic climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, bright bodyside trim and roof rack, body-colour door sills and side mirrors, electronic vehicle information centre, fog lights, super console and power adjustable pedals, eight-way power driver's seat, power second-row windows and rear quarter windows, six-speaker stereo and illuminated front-door storage.
Crew Plus brings a 115-volt power outlet, power-operated sliding doors and tailgate, heated front seats, leather seating surfaces, ambient lighting, overhead storage bin, backup camera, power-adjustable driver and front passenger seats, rear swivelling reading lights, single rear overhead console, satellite radio, sun visors with lighted vanity mirrors, Uconnect 430 media centre and a garage door opener.
In the R/T, Dodge adds unique black leather seats with red stitching, satin carbon aluminum wheels, nine-speaker stereo with subwoofer and amplifier, body-colour grille, black headlight bezels, remote start, black interior, heated steering wheel and second-row seats, Bluetooth, performance suspension and second- and third-row window shades.
